Hillsborough’s slopes are dominated by large homes situated on lots that must be a minimum of half an acre.  It is one of the wealthiest communities in America.  The Re Project is a large brick estate that sits on about two acres.  The job was a remodel and new construction of the main house with a conservatory addition, site improvements, a pool house and detached garage.

Walton & Sons Masonry was contracted to do all the masonry starting with repairs on the existing brick veneer.  The job was to align with and match existing brick work over the entire northwest and southwest elevations of the 80,000 sq. ft. main residence.

We added brick veneer to the new conservatory addition of the home and to a three-car detached garage, which featured brick arches over the doors.  This included all associated stainless steel lintels, anchors and fasteners.  The building medium used was Glen-Gery brick.  We set a 50/50 mix of their handmade red facebrick series, Monticello HMOS (Handmade Oversize) and Brandywine HMOS.  We also set columns for the Pool House.

We constructed three masonry fireplaces that included fireboxes set with firebrick in a Herringbone pattern.  We also installed screen pockets, hearths and brick facing.  For the Living Room and Master Bedroom we installed an “over-and-under” fireplace.  Stainless steel flues were installed for all three fireplaces.
